Deleting Your Account

Last updated: September 25, 2026

1. Do you have an account?

Off Finance keeps your data on your device. You only have an account if you signed in to sync or to join a shared vault. If you never did, there's no account to delete and nothing of yours on our server. Analytics data isn't tied to an account, so section 6 covers it separately.

2. Request deletion

Email support@off-finance.com from the email address on your Off Finance account and ask us to delete it. We use the sending address to confirm the request is yours, then delete the account. A "Delete account" option in the app (Settings, Account) is planned and will replace this step.

3. What gets deleted

Your account (email, name, avatar, and sign-in details) and the data you synced to our server: transactions, categories, budgets, payment methods, recurring rules, and vaults. Your subscription is billed by Google Play, and deleting the account doesn't cancel it. Cancel it in Google Play if you want the billing to stop.

4. What we keep

Only what the law requires us to keep, like billing records. The copy of your data on your device is yours and isn't affected. To remove it, delete the app or clear its data in your device settings.

5. Timing

We process a verified request within 30 days. Leftover copies in encrypted backups are purged within 90 days. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data in general.

6. Analytics data

Analytics sharing is off unless you turned it on. It's linked to a random ID on your device, not to your account, so deleting your account doesn't delete it, and you don't need an account to ask. PostHog keeps each random ID as a profile with no name, email, or account behind it.

To delete what was already sent: in Settings > Privacy, tap "Delete analytics data". It opens an email to support with your IDs already filled in. Send it, and we delete each ID's profile along with its events. This works whether sharing is on or off: the app keeps the IDs you used before on your device, without sending them anywhere, and puts them in the email. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes them, so send the email before doing that.

To stop sharing: turn off "Share analytics" in Settings > Privacy. New events stop right away, and the random ID is reset. You can still delete what was sent under the old ID, as above.
